For instance, if the player wants to play a Paladin or Wizard, they would have to choose the Albion realm in Dark Age of Camelot. For example, Briton, Highlander, Saracen, Inconnu, Avalonian, and Half-Ogre races are only available for the Albion realm.Īs each realm has a unique set of classes, the player cannot choose a class from outside their chosen realm. This will determine the choice of races that the player may select. Players create their characters by first choosing one of the realms where they will hail from. Thus, Albion features knights and castles, Hibernia has forests and nature spiries, while Midgard has giants and Vikings. These realms are Albion, Hibernia, and Midgard, with each realm being based on the myths and legends of Arthurian, Irish Celtic, and Norse stories, respectively. Dark Age of Camelot is set in a fictional alternate world where three realms are constantly struggling against one another.
